Dr Frederic Leusch is a Senior Research Fellow and Program Leader for the Water Quality and Diagnostics Program within the Smart Water Research Centre at Griffith University. His research expertise includes aquatic ecotoxicology, biotechnology, endocrine disruption, information management systems, risk assessment and toxicogenomics.

Current research interests
Validation of in vitro bioassays
Development of bioassay-based screening techniques
In vivo / in situ biomarkers of exposure to endocrine disrupting compounds
Endocrine disruption in Australian waterways
Effects-based risk assessment of alternate water sources (purified recycled water, managed aquifer recharge, stormwater)
Information management system to support sound risk assessment of chemicals in the environment

Future research interests

Combination of toxicogenomics and proteomics
Development of new biomarkers of exposure
Development of an integrated risk assessment methodology
