John Rolfe is a resource economist who is Professor in the Faculty of Arts, Business, Informatics and Education of the CQUniversity at Rockhampton. He is also the Director of the Centre for Environmental Management at the University. John has a number of research interests, but specialises in regional development, environmental, resource and agricultural economic issues, resource tradeoffs, and economic impact assessment in regional areas. John has been closely involved with understanding the impact of CQUniversity in the central Queensland region, having managed a regional campus for 10 years and leading a study identifying the economic impact of the University on the regional economy. He has 85 refereed publications in the form of journal articles, book chapters, book reviews and conference papers, and a further 200 non-refereed journal articles, conference papers and research reports. John has led a number of major research projects (> 30) over the past 10 years for a total funding value of more than $3.2m.
